You've decided you need a website - here's how I work:

1. Contact Scotsfox to brief me on your requirements. I prefer to use This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for all communication as I feel this is much more efficient and allows both of us to keep a track of progress. I work exclusively by eMail and online as it's just not possible to offer my prices any other way. I've worked remotely with most of my clients and found no problems with this approach.

2. Send reference materials to Scotsfox. This can be done by This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . Source materials can be current brochures, flyers, photographs, finished artwork from a 3rd party along with any copy text etc. These should be supplied in electronic format if at all possible. If you require me to scan originals there will be a charge of £10 per scanned item.

3. Scotsfox will build you a FREE, NO OBLIGATION demonstration site to let you see what your website will look like along with an estimate of the cost to develop. The demo will be posted to Scotsfox's Demo server for you to view online at your convenience.

4. After a week I'll ask for your comments and a committment to proceed. If you don't want to proceed I'll say goodbye at this point.

5. If you want to proceed I'll ask you to sign an online agreement and the process of developing your web site will begin.

6. I'll register or transfer your chosen Domain Name and set up the hosting server ready to take your 'finished' site. I don't deal with sites I don't host!

7. Over the next week or two I'll ask you to review and alter the content and look of your site - everything can change at this point, remember the demo is for illustrative purposes only. I prefer to do this by This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it and you can send your changes and suggestions at anytime and as often as you like.

8. At the end of this process (no more than a couple of weeks) we'll have worked together to complete your site. In reality web sites are never 'finished' but we'll sign off the site at this point.

9. Your site is uploaded to its final home and we crack open the champers! (Well we do if you're paying! - Irn Broo anyone?)

10. I will invoice you.*

REMEMBER CONTENT MAINTENANCE AND UPDATES ARE INCLUDED IN MY £25pm HOSTING PACKAGE. I SET MYSELF A SERVICE STANDARD OF 24 HOURS FOR UPDATES TO EXISTING TEXT AND THE ADDITION OF NEW CONTENT.

*This only applies to sites hosted by Scotsfox. If you want to host elsewhere I must ask for full payment at stage 5.
